Equipping Church Leaders. Serving Communities in Need.

At The Abel Foundation, we believe that the Gospel changes lives, strengthens families, and transforms communities. Our mission is twofold: to equip church leaders and families with deep, sound biblical resources, and to extend practical mercy and disaster relief to communities facing crisis. Countries equipped with God’s word thus far include: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Cuba, Cote d’Ivoire, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Malawi, Mexico, Native American Reservations, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, Spain, Tanzania, USA, Venezuela.

Our Story & Purpose

The Abel Foundation is named in loving memory of our sweet grandson, Abel Bertil Toledo.

While his time on this side of eternity was brief, Abel’s life left an enduring impact on our hearts. For many years, our family and ministry partners had already been serving pastors, sending Bibles, and providing mercy ministries to communities around the world. Losing Abel inspired us to bring all of these efforts together under one dedicated mission—turning our love for him into a lasting legacy of hope, comfort, and truth.

Rooted in the promise that "God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things... you will abound in every good work" (2 Corinthians 9:8), this foundation exists to share His love far and wide in Abel's honor. What began as individual acts of service over the years has now blossomed into a unified global ministry—placing God’s Word into the hands of church leaders, men, and women, providing Story Bibles for children, and extending Christ's mercy to communities whenever needs arise.

In many communities across the globe and right here at home, faithful pastors and church leaders serve with immense heart—but often without basic study tools, commentaries, or theological resources. At the same time, families facing sudden trials or natural disasters often need a helping hand and physical relief.

We are so joyfully blessed to bridge that gap. Through Abel’s legacy, we get to bring spiritual encouragement and practical comfort to people around the world—proving that God can take our most cherished memories and use them to heal, equip, and bless thousands of lives!

Grounded Theological Resources

Many faithful pastors shepherd congregations without access to formal seminary training, commentaries, or study tools. To meet this need, we source and distribute the Reformation Study Bible (edited by Dr. R.C. Sproul) directly from Ligonier Ministries, placing trusted resources into the hands of leaders who need them most.

  • A Seminary in a Single Volume: With over 1.1 million words of verse-by-verse notes, historic confessions, and theological articles, each Bible serves as a complete study library for sermon preparation and discipleship.

  • Four Major Languages: We distribute editions in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French (With Arabic currently in production), allowing church leaders to study and teach in their heart language.

  • Built for the Realities of Ministry:

    • Durable Leather Editions: Provided to overseas pastors traveling rough terrain and remote rural routes, built to last a lifetime of daily ministry.

    • Sturdy Hardcovers: Provided to local church leaders, campus workers, and ministry staff for regular study and counseling.

What We Do.

Investing in Men, Women, & Children

Faith is rooted in the home and cultivated within the local church. While equipping pastors is vital, building resilient, Christ-centered communities requires investing in every generation. We place Scripture directly into the hands of men, women, and children so that families can read, understand, and live out God’s Word together.

  • Women Ministry Leaders: Women serve as vital pillars in ministry and discipleship across global communities. To equip them to teach, counsel, and mentor others with theological depth, we supply women leaders with the comprehensive Reformation Study Bible.

  • Mothers & Resilient Women: For many women—including those overcoming deep adversity, displacement, and hardship—learning to read opens the door to life-transforming hope. We place faithful, readable Bibles in their native languages into the hands of mothers and women seeking refuge and truth, empowering them to know God's grace and disciple their households.

  • The Jesus Storybook Bible for Children: Through the beautifully illustrated Jesus Storybook Bible, we plant seeds of gospel truth early by showing young readers how every story in Scripture whispers Jesus' name. For many children in under-resourced regions, this is the very first book they have ever owned.

Mercy & Disaster Relief

True Christian ministry follows the example of Jesus by caring for both the soul and the body. When sudden crises or natural disasters strike, vulnerable communities are often left without basic life necessities. Our mercy ministry acts as the hands and feet of Christ, delivering immediate physical aid alongside the hope of the Gospel.

  • Emergency Aid: When hurricanes, earthquakes, or severe economic hardship hit places like Colombia, Haiti, and Ecuador, and Venezuela, we mobilize resources to provide food packages, clean drinking water, emergency medical supplies, and shelter materials.

  • Partnering Through Local Churches: We never operate in isolation. Every piece of relief aid is funneled through trusted local pastors and church networks already on the ground. This ensures aid is distributed fairly, directly to those most in need, while strengthening the local church’s witness in its community.

  • Restoring Hope: Beyond emergency supplies, our relief efforts send a clear message to hurting families: You are not forgotten, and you are deeply loved.
